State Channels is Open source state channels for scalable applications, built on Ethereum.

Today we're excited to announce an initiative to unify Ethereum's State Channels projects around a single standard.

Since meeting in NYC in May, we have been working behind the scenes to adopt a single specification, laying the foundation for a fully interoperable ecosystem of State Channels applications.

This project builds on years of research & development by our teams, as each of us pushed forward different components of the tech stack. Uniting around a single specification is another critical milestone, with many benefits for the Ethereum ecosystem.

Our goal is to enable the best possible user and developer experience for State Channels. All wallets, clients, or applications that use the State Channels specification will be compatible by default. Developers and users will not need to worry about supporting a multitude of competing standards, avoiding fragmentation.

Fantom is a consensus-as-a-service (CaaS) platform for the next generation of distributed ledgers.

The team behind Fantom has created a consensus mechanism which is asynchronous and byzantine fault-tolerant (aBFT) by design, meaning it can function in adverse and loosely connected networks. This consensus algorithm, Lachesis, is compatible with both Cosmos SDK and the EVM, allowing builders to deploy their own blockchain platforms or applications with ease.

Synthetix, formerly Havven, is a cryptoasset-backed network that enables the creation of on-chain synthetic assets.

The network reduces price volatility through its dual-token system: HAV, the collateral token, and nUSD, the asset-backed stablecoin. nUSD is collateralised by the value of HAV, and the value of HAV comes from transaction fees that are generated with all nUSD transactions and paid to HAV holders. The value of nUSD is kept stable by HAV holders, who are incentivised to manage its supply. Havven is currently on Ethereum but will also be on EOSIO by the end of 2018.
