Ireland has a strong growing blockchain industry with more and more companies exploring this new and revolutionary technology. Given the growth in the sector, the mission of Blockchain Women Ireland is to facilitate and drive the conversation on the possibilities of blockchain technology for women in Ireland. By providing a platform for communication, education, and the exchange of ideas, the group aims to bridge the gap between the impossible and possible for women in blockchain. The group will work to build awareness around the universal potential for blockchain as a career within all industries and sectors. Co-founded in 2018 in Dublin by Niamh O'Connell (Consensys) and Emma Walker (Wachsman), the founding team has expanded to include Mai Santamaria (Department of Finance), Joyce O'Connor (President Emeritus, National College of Ireland), Laura Clifford (ADAPT Centre) and Paula Kelleher (BNY Mellon). From the outset, Blockchain Women Ireland strives to demystify the opportunities that exist in Blockchain. To initiate this awareness, a series of meetups, entitled BlockW, is scheduled to run during 2018 & 2019. The meetups will be free to attend and open to all (venue capacities permitting!). Watch this page for updates on meetups and more exciting initiatives coming soon from Blockchain Women Ireland.
