Chris Brocoum is Head of Finance at Protocol Labs, focused on building a next-gen Finance team capable of rising to the challenges associated with deploying decentralized networks. Key areas of leadership include setting sound financial strategy, capital allocation, and execution discipline through thoughtful business partnering and establishing robust operations across all areas of Finance by cultivating prudent best practices. Prior to Protocol Labs, Chris spent five years at Lending Club as Vice President of Finance, where he focused on uncovering insights and building analytics around the company’s marketplace lending platform. He was also responsible for leveraging technology to develop innovative solutions for scaling Lending Club’s financial operations. After earning his MBA from Haas in the Berkeley-Columbia Executive Program, Chris began combining his dual passions for technology and finance in the burgeoning world of FinTech as Director of Finance & Risk Management at PlaySpan -- a payments, microtransactions, and virtual currencies start-up that was acquired by Visa in 2011. Chris launched his career in tech after completing a BS in Economics at MIT. He moved to Silicon Valley as part of the founding team of a distributed computing start-up, and went on to build his finance experience via several roles at KLA-Tencor, including an assignment abroad in the UK.
