Datawallet aspires to transform the data industry by creating the first Personal Data Management Platform empowering data ownership, control, mobility, and the world’s greatest C2B Data Exchange. Datawallet provides users with a self-sovereign wallet that puts them in charge of their data, and allows them to monetize as well as utilize an asset that is rightfully theirs. It empowers developers to leverage a completely new data universe to build the most advanced applications ever. And it provides companies with insights that will boost their operations on a scale never seen before. Datawallet was founded to fix the broken data ecosystem. On one side exists individuals, who have no control over the data they create, no transparency into how it is used, and no ability to profit from its use, despite creating the fuel for the data-driven economy. On the other side, companies waste billions in mistargeted advertising, offer sub-optimal goods and services, and are slowed in their innovation cycles, all due to incomplete and inaccurate customer data. In the middle exists data brokers, scraping individuals’ data without their knowledge, and selling it to businesses who have no better option to improve customer insight. Throughout the ecosystem, sensitive consumer data has been lost or stolen through negligence or theft. To fix this problem, Datawallet devised a solution as simple as it is elegant. Empower individuals to sell their data directly to companies in a privacy preserving manner. This enables individuals to regain control of their data and profit from an asset that is rightfully theirs, all in a privacy-preserving and secure manner. Businesses can now ethically source complete and accurate information, allowing them to better engage with customers. Sharing in our vision, Datawallet raised seed funding from Tim Draper, iconic venture investors and Marc Benioff, CEO of Salesforce. In January 2018, Datawallet raised an additional $40MM, and we’re now executing on our vision to change the future of data.
