Edward A Thomson, Grants at Web3 Foundation. Currently, he works at the Web3 Foundation, covering numerous responsibilities, but mainly security and communications. One of the main projects of the foundation is the Polkadot network. A next generation blockchain platform. Wide variety of experience and knowledge: • 2018 - Now working at the Web3 Foundation. Originally covering communications and security, but more recently I created and ran the grants program (end to end). • 2015 - 2018 - Worked at PCSL (now a part of Cisco) as an Information Security Consultant. • 2015 - Complete MSc Information Security. • 2014 / 2015 - Moving to Information Security. • 2014 - Joined Turcan Connell Asset Management as a Quantitative Research Analyst. • 2012 - Joined Fundamental Tracker Investment Management (FTIM) and continued to work with FTIM under the new owner (Maven Capital Partners UK LLP). Developed quantitative models for Harlyn Research LLP. • 2011 - Served as a director at the ORRC, a Scottish based SME, which provides sales and services in the Persian Rug trade. • 2011 - Graduated from the University of Glasgow with a PhD in Astrophysics • 2007 - Graduated from the University of Edinburgh with a Masters of Physics Specialties: Blockchain, Web3, Astrophysics, Maths, Investments, Enterprise & Entrepreneurship, Financial Services, Information Security, Cryptography, Bitcoin, Ethereum, Polkadot.
