Bitcoin ABC is a full node implementation of the Bitcoin Cash protocol, update designed to increase bitcoin's blocksize and create Bitcoin Cash. We aim to provide a solid, stable software and help lead Bitcoin Cash protocol development with an open and collaborative process.

CasperLabs will be an indirect competitor to Ethereum as it endeavours to deliver the much-anticipated Casper protocol upgrade. Vlad Zamfir was leading a popular version of Casper (CBC) at Ethereum, helping the network to rely on stake rather than computing power to achieve consensus, as well as addressing scalability issues. 

CasperLabs is focused on offering the upgrade as soon as possible – offering Vlad Zamfir a fresh, more focused platform.

CasperLabs just want the world to switch to proof of stake. They have a dev team that’s solely focused on accelerating it.

Vlad Zamfir has so far signed an IP licensing agreement and a letter-of-intent with CasperLabs, while a final contract is pending. CasperLabs is making a multi-year, multi-million dollar commitment to continue to fund Zamfir’s research into CBC Casper.

SushiSwap, An evolution of Uniswap with SUSHI tokenomics. Operate by Chef Nomi, Master of Omakase.

SushiSwap is a fork of Uniswap with a native governance token ($SUSHI) and a change in the reward distribution mechanism. With Uniswap, LPs earn 0.3% of trading fees whereas on Sushiswap, LPs will earn 0.25% fees, with the remaining 0.05% being distributed to SUSHI holders.

The objective is to incentivize early liquidity providers with added incentive for bootstrapping the pools. In Uniswap, LPs earn fees so long as liquidity is provided. Sushiswap aims to add a more passive form of income with early LPs benefitting from the future traction of the protocol through SUSHI and the 0.05% fee.

In typical DeFi degen style, SushiSwap founder Chef Nomi made a call to arms for auditors to conduct a smart contract audit after the protocol reached $150M in TVL within the first 5 hours of launch. Quantstamp has since taken responsibility to audit the contracts alongside a 48 hour time lock on the governance contract to prevent any malicious activity from the founder. A rewards distribution of 10% has been set aside for the team for audits & operational expenses, an allocation which can reportedly be adjusted through governance.

Squid is the cross-chain swap and liquidity routing protocol on Axelar Network. It lets you swap any token between blockchains, and unlocks access to apps across chains in a single click.

Squid utilises existing DEXs to swap and send any native token between chains. This can be done via our SDK, Front End or Contracts directly.

Swaps are composable with Axelar's generalised message passing, so Squid can enable one-click transactions between any application and any user, using any asset.

Founded in 2015, Clearmatics is a London-based blockchain R&D company. We build member-owned and governed decentralised network platforms for the peer-to-peer exchange of tokenised value between network members. Our ethos and architecture is grounded in protocol, peer-to-peer architecture, removing friction and market inefficiencies, strong security guarantees and interoperable exchange across platforms to build a peer-to-peer ecosystem for market infrastructure. Our focus is capital markets; we work with firms that have the ambition to reinvent the industry's business models.

Our technology is p2p network platforms and protocol first - protocol suite, software that implements those protocols and provides client software and infrastructure for p2p networks. Its based on Ethereum and we call it Autonity - the protocol, the Geth-based client.

We use our technology to build p2p networks and dFMI.

P2p networks are private, member-owned and governed networks that enable peer-to-peer transfer of financial value and automation of contractual and fiduciary operations without reliance on trusted third-parties. Such decentralised networks can interact with one another, creating a wider ecosystem of value and leveraging the network effect, and they can form part of a dFMI.

dFMI is a new concept, one that builds on the security and resilience guarantees of distributed ledger and systems engineering to provide a platform for tokenising value and transferring its ownership between participants on that or, by cross-platform exchange, on other platforms.

We believe that our technology will drive adoption of a next-generation dFMI where intermediaries are removed, incentive structures encourage self-regulation, and risks are mitigated and reduced to the maximum. dFMI doesn't just provide a cryptographically secure environment for market participants to transact, it provides a peer-to-peer model that removes financial intermediaries and engenders a wider ecosystem for value transfer across platforms and pre- post-trade processes. dFMI works to mitigate concentration and liquidity risk, reduce settlement cycles to real-time, remove friction, and lower the transaction cost of economic exchange.

Clearmatics is a company with a strong belief in the open source movement and good ties to the Ethereum community. We also work closely with the Ethereum Foundation, and are an active member of the Ethereum Enterprise Alliance (EEA).

A distributed social hackathon…. Well, when you have an open source project it’s in your best interest to allow people from all over the world to contribute, afterall that’s the meaning of open source, right?

So our idea was to host a hackathon, where anyone could contribute, collaborate and create projects directly into one organization and we would fund bounties and provide code review in real time.

Our goal with this invitingly open source initiative is to inspire and educate incoming developers!
