yEarn is a liquidity aggregator providing automated yield farming strategy through a number of lending pools. The protocol’s most well-known pool, yearn.finance, shifts capital between top DeFi lending protocols like Compound, Aave and dYdX – ultimately geared at providing lenders the best return on liquidity.

yEarn also created Curve’s Y pool, a lending pool consisting of top stablecoins like USDC, DAI, TUSD and USDT, and is used for the BUSD Curve pool thanks to yEarn’s interest-earning yToken standard.

yEarn recently released a native governance token, YFI, which is earned through liquidity money on a number of different pools. YFI is earned by staking proof of liquidity and is one of the only DeFi tokens which was launched with no premine and no initial DEX offering.

Balancer is a non-custodial portfolio manager, liquidity provider, and price sensor. It has risen to prominence since its launch as a AMM-based DEX and it currently is one of the top DEXes in the world by Total Value Locked (TVL).

Balancer is a generalization of the AMM idea that Uniswap pioneered, allowing end users more control over the pools that can be created. A key Balancer feature is the ability to create pools with multiple assets that can have different weights rather than the more traditional asset pair that is maintained in a 50/50 ratio. Balancer supports up to 8 assets that can be weighted in different ways to create asset portfolios to express different ideas and use cases. Trading activity on a given Balancer pool will maintain the asset allocations that have been setup. Other important features include the ability for users to set the trading fee for pools that are created, as well as specifying if the pools should be public or private.

The Ubiq network provides a stable blockchain to host an Ethereum Virtual Machine, integrating a decentralized Turing-complete virtual machine that allows for the creation of contracts and tokens. It provides a value token called "Ubiq (UBQ)", which was generated by transferring the value of a three-year old established token, Jumbucks (JBS), onto a blockchain with Ethereum functionality.
