Ryan Tharp is C/C++ Developer at Loki. I have a very broad skill-set mainly based in technology, communication, startups and business operations. Been a software consultant for over 15 years, I have extensively worked with small businesses and organizations including start ups. I've develop a serious set of project management skills in working with and coordinating between various take holders. Understanding business processes from accounting and finance to human resources and customer service. I love solving user-based problems, not just technical ones. I understand communication architecture such as Internetworking, supercomputing, and telephony. I've done modems to VOIP. Fixed point long distance wireless to redundant network routes. I know the difference between bandwidth and latency, high availability and load balancing, and systematic problems and edge cases. I've also been involving with server hosting operations for over 20 years. I know how to architect systems that reduce complexity, manage flexibility and plan how systems will degrade. I believe in rapid development, iteration and quick prototyping. I have too much experience in editing live production systems, dealing with seemingly catastrophic failures, and panicked last minute Google deep dives. Video games was the spark that drove me to learning programming at the age of 7. So game development and gamification have always been topics I've followed closely. I also have basic understanding of electrical engineering, signal processing, machine learning/vision and interest in robotics. Beyond the technical side. I value design, user interface and user experience. As a past customer-service and community manager, I take feedback very seriously and seek to balance time and resources to optimize products and services. Juggling many products, Making sure we send the right message is not only crucial to marketing but brand building as well.
