My name is Daniel Larimer and I am the founder of BitShares. My mission in life is to find free market solutions to secure life, liberty, and property for all.

The purpose of this blog is to help create a free society by encouraging people to join our community which is centered around Bitshares, a next generation fully decentralized crypto-currency exchange. I use Austrian Economics to engineer the economic incentives which make freedom and non-violence profitable.

Richie Lai is Co-Founder, CIO of Bittrex. He was a security engineering specializing in cyber crimes and areas around malware, botnets, and web exploits. He spent 12 years at Microsoft focusing on security where he helped shape many aspects of the program. His next stop was Qualys, where for a year he helped launch their Malware Detection Service. Today he works at Amazon securing their products, network and infrastructure.

In his spare time, he enjoys photography, poker, and spending time with his wife.

Richie Lai

Silvio Micali has received his Laurea in Mathematics from the University of Rome, and his PhD in Computer Science from the University of California at Berkeley. Since 1983, he has been on the faculty of the Electrical Engineering and Computer Science Department at MIT. 

Silvio’s research interests are cryptography, zero knowledge, pseudo-random generation, Byzantine agreement, secure protocols, mechanism design, and distributed ledgers. 

Silvio is the recipient of the Turing Award (in computer science), the Gödel Prize (in theoretical computer science), and the RSA prize (in cryptography). He is a member of the National Academy of Sciences, the National Academy of Engineering, of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences, and of the Academia dei Lincei. 

Silvio is the founder of Algorand LLC. Algorand is a new foundational blockchain, developed from scratch, on totally new principles, which simultaneously guarantees true decentralization, scalability, and security.

Noah Zinsmeister is lead engineer at Uniswap Exchange; creator of Web3-react; co-author of ERC-1484.

I graduated from Columbia in 2016, where I studied economics and math. After a close call with an econ PhD I became fascinated with cryptocurrencies, and have since gone fully down the rabbit hole. Right now I'm a Senior Engineer at Uniswap, a decentralized exchange built on Ethereum.

I have a B.A. in Economics-Mathematics from Columbia University. After graduating I spent nearly two years at the Federal Reserve Bank of New York working as a Senior Research Analyst in the Money and Payments Studies division. My long-standing interest in cryptocurrencies eventually led me to an engineering role at Hydrogen, where I wrote security grade smart contracts, co-authored ERC-1484 (a digital identity protocol), and developed open-source blockchain tooling. I'm now a Senior Engineer at Uniswap, a decentralized exchange protocol for trading Ethereum-based assets.

Noah Zinsmeister

Nadav Hollander is Founder of Dharma Protocol. Trying to do less talking and more building.

Formerly Software Engineering Intern at Coinbase. Built external-facing features and internal tools into Coinbase's web application in order to minimize fraud and compliance risk as part of the Risk & Growth team. Spearheaded development of a micro-service that leveraged machine learning and computer vision in order to reduce costs and increase conversion rates in Coinbase's existing fraud detection pipeline.

Nadav Hollander

Dawn Song is CEO and co-founder of Oasis Labs and a professor in the Department of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science at the University of California at Berkeley. Dawn has spent significant time researching and building security and privacy technologies, specifically in the areas of software, networking, distributed systems, applied cryptography, blockchains, smart contracts, and machine learning. She has been recognized for contributions in computer security through numerous prestigious awards including the MacArthur Fellowship, the Guggenheim Fellowship, the Alfred P. Sloan Research Fellowship, the NSF CAREER Award, the MIT Technology Review TR-35 Award, the Faculty Research Award from IBM, Google and other major tech companies, and Best Paper Awards from top conferences in Computer Security and Deep Learning. She is ranked the most cited scholar in computer security (AMiner Award). She is a serial entrepreneur, including Ensighta Security (acquired by FireEye Inc.) and Menlo Security. She obtained her PhD from UC Berkeley.

Dawn Song

Stefan George is a full-stack developer who previously worked for SAP in Palo Alto.  He became interested in Bitcoin in 2013 and began working with Martin Köppelmann on a Bitcoin-related startup for sports betting. After taking a break to complete his Master’s in Computer Science and to travel in Asia, Stefan joined Martin in developing Gnosis on the Ethereum network.  When he is not working with Ethereum, Stefan enjoys playing tennis and squash and likes to travel the world.

Andrew Lee is Co-Founder and CTO of Handshake Protocol, Founded Purse.io. Making Crypto Useful: for consumers at Purse, for developers with Bcoin, and for industry with HBV.

He drives the company’s strategy, partnerships, and growth. Andrew draws on his previous experience founding an ISO, covering emerging payments at Merrill Lynch, and optimizing processes as an engineer at LG. He earned an MBA from Georgia Tech and a bachelor’s from the University of Florida.
