Station's logo

Station is on-chain infrastructure for onboarding & coordinating contributors of the future. It wants to make meaningful work accessible to everyone online, regardless of who you are and where you are. We're a group of contributors with a mission to make decentralized collaboration and coordination accessible to all. We believe in a future where people are no longer fungible assets of corporations, but proud owners of their own vision, ideas, and relationships. To us, work can be an expression of love, integrated symbiotically into our lives and the greater community. As an intermediary of human capital, traditional corporations with bloated management and poor incentives for employees and users can no longer effectively creates values at a low cost in the face of the ever fiercer competition. Tremendous energy is wasted optimizing for zero-sum games of equity vesting, salary negotiation, and organizational politics. In this environment, individuals also feel disincentivized to perform above and beyond, given the limited financial upside, the political constraint, and the lack of recognition. Crypto networks have demonstrated the potential of decentralized human coordination when incentives align and a shared goal is well understood. Without a centralized body, Bitcoin has become the best-performing asset class of the decade, and Ethereum has become one of the world's most valuable computing platforms. We look to do the same for talent networks — to align incentives for the world's most ambitious builders to come together and form fluid organizations. To create a network of fluid organizations, we can no longer rely on traditional enterprise software with rigid permissions control and a centralized database. Jumping on a project on the decentralized web shouldn't be gated by a "manager", but with rights to participate earned based on one's on-chain reputation and contribution history. For people to self-govern, we need to build the tools and mechanics that make mutual collaboration and reward second nature. By critically re-examining the atomic units of a corporation, we distill the most valuable features and turn them into scalable, secure, and user-centric products and services. In the next 10 years, we look to redesign every function of a corporation. To start, we're pioneering the infrastructure for decentralized teams to spin up their own HR function so that everyone can onboard, engage, coordinate, and reward contributors. We'll be using the products we design to run our own operations to ensure usability and scalability with deep empathy for the end-user. A network will emerge as a result of interacting with the tools we build. The on-chain data become high-fidelity representations of a contributor's identity, reputation, and relationships — all without compromising individual privacy. These data allow Station to become an ecosystem where anyone can discover others to form teams and build products and services that continue to push the boundaries of decentralized work.
