She is currently employed by ICO Ranker, a Codebase Ventures ($CODE) subsidiary, in the role of managing editor. She also assists with other portfolio companies. Alissa has reported extensively on financial crime & litigation, healthcare, pharma, advertising, issues of social justice and more. She graduated with a BA in English from Grinnell College in Iowa and an MFA in creative writing from The New School in Manhattan. She has taken graduate courses in finance. Alissa is fluent in French and has formal comedic training. Alissa has worked and freelanced for a variety of publications throughout her journalism career. Prior to ICO Ranker, she was employed by Adweek, and previously by Biopharm Insight, a Mergermarket/Financial Times (now Acuris) publication. At Mergermarket, Alissa won a prestigious reporting award among hundreds of nominees for her investigation into cutting edge gene therapies.
