Garrett McDonald is Founder of Tuku, also prev. produced mining hardware. An entrepreneur from a very young age, Garrett was often running small businesses. In high school, in addition to being the captain of his crew and robotics teams, he participated in decentralized mesh-networking projects and built a business manufacturing custom circuit boards specifically for validating transactions on the bitcoin network. Garrett got to interact with the core team of bitcoin, and the lead developer advised him on the company. It started humbly with a community-driven model, and it grew into a huge success, all before he was an adult. He eventually became a wholesale energy customer, purchasing the equivalent of 3000 homes worth of electricity from a hydroelectric power plant near his hometown in Idaho. Now he serves as the Director of Cryptoeconomics the Energy Web Foundation (where he started as a Founding Member). Garrett stresses that it is of paramount importance that we ensure that the information presented to internet users is open, unbiased, and uncontrolled.
