Synthetix, formerly Havven, is a cryptoasset-backed network that enables the creation of on-chain synthetic assets.

The network reduces price volatility through its dual-token system: HAV, the collateral token, and nUSD, the asset-backed stablecoin. nUSD is collateralised by the value of HAV, and the value of HAV comes from transaction fees that are generated with all nUSD transactions and paid to HAV holders. The value of nUSD is kept stable by HAV holders, who are incentivised to manage its supply. Havven is currently on Ethereum but will also be on EOSIO by the end of 2018.

OpenOcean, the decentralized financial services development team released a new generation of products based on the intelligent full aggregation protocol: openocean.finance.

OpenOcean aggregation platform applies a deeply optimized intelligent routing algorithm and a transparent price mechanism; when an order is placed on the platform, the user will get lower slippage, less gas consumption and better prices than other platforms.

OpenOcean search engine analyzes dozens of DEX trading platforms, uses an improved D-Star algorithm to solve the initial optimal path, and adjusts and optimizes the path in real time during the subsequent trading process.

OpenOcean makes up for the impermanent losses of customers by trading mining token incentives and “slippage subsidies”.

OpenOcean tracks and analyzes DeFi trading assets, and has established a new asset evaluation system ODES (OpenOcean Defi Evaluation System) based on ecological big data. The system evaluates each token in terms of risk exposure, and only tokens with lower risk are provided for exchange.

In the future, OpenOcean will also aggregate DEX platforms based on non-ETH public chains, such as Newdex, Switcheo, Justswap, Pancake etc., and even Polkaswap.

Given the current situation of infrastructure such as Oracles and DEX in the defi ecosystem, and the demand for transaction efficiency, a majority of transactions of financial derivatives — contracts, options and other digital assets — will still be completed on CEX platform in the short term. The fragmented exchange market makes it inconvenient for users to execute cross-market trading strategies. OpenOcean will further integrate centralized trading platforms such as Binance, Coinbase, Bitfinex, and Bitmex, and achieve one-step transactions on any CEX with OpenOcean portfolio margin pool and OpenOcean wallet.

SushiSwap is a fork of Uniswap with a native governance token ($SUSHI) and a change in the reward distribution mechanism. With Uniswap, LPs earn 0.3% of trading fees whereas on Sushiswap, LPs will earn 0.25% fees, with the remaining 0.05% being distributed to SUSHI holders.

The objective is to incentivize early liquidity providers with added incentive for bootstrapping the pools. In Uniswap, LPs earn fees so long as liquidity is provided. Sushiswap aims to add a more passive form of income with early LPs benefitting from the future traction of the protocol through SUSHI and the 0.05% fee.

In typical DeFi degen style, SushiSwap founder Chef Nomi made a call to arms for auditors to conduct a smart contract audit after the protocol reached $150M in TVL within the first 5 hours of launch. Quantstamp has since taken responsibility to audit the contracts alongside a 48 hour time lock on the governance contract to prevent any malicious activity from the founder. A rewards distribution of 10% has been set aside for the team for audits & operational expenses, an allocation which can reportedly be adjusted through governance.

Curve is an exchange liquidity pool on Ethereum (like Uniswap) designed for (1) extremely efficient stablecoin trading (2) low risk, supplemental fee income for liquidity providers, without an opportunity cost.

Curve allows users (and smart contracts like 1inch) to trade between DAI and USDC with a bespoke low slippage, low fee algorithm designed specifically for stablecoins. Behind the scenes, the liquidity pool is supplied to the Compound protocol, where it generates income for liquidity providers.

Curve is currently in alpha - the codebase will be published on Github in the next 48 hours, and an external audit will begin in the near future. Please don’t supply your life savings, or assets you can’t afford to lose, to Curve, especially as a liquidity provider.

Using Curve as an exchange user should be significantly less risky, but this is not advice.
