Manuel Stagars

Manuel Stagars is the Economist, Entepreneur, Film Director, Podcaster, Author, Senior Researcher, Advisor—working with great organizations on strategy, impact, adoption, and growth in deep tech and juggernaut fields. Starting January 2019, I lecture at the University of Applied Sciences in Business Administration Zurich (HWZ) on use cases of blockchain technology. I founded and co-founded several tech and media companies and a financial consultancy in Zurich/Switzerland, Los Angeles, San Francisco and Tokyo that have worked with clients including UBS, Deutsche Bank, Coca-Cola, Gatorade, Acura, Mercedes, Jaguar, Four Seasons Hotels, MTV, Fox, Paramount Pictures, Disney, Universal Music Group, Interscope. Then I led an Open Data project as a senior researcher at the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology (ETH). I have directed documentary films about blockchain technology, AI, and FinTech. My podcast "The Blockchain and Us" is in the top 30 crypto and blockchain podcast (according to Listennotes.com), and my books on entrepreneurship, financial innovation, Open Data, and impact investment are available on Wiley Finance, Palgrave Macmillan, and Apress/Springer Nature. I have a BSc (hons.) in economics from the London School of Economics (LSE) and hold several finance certificates, such as the CFA, CAIA, ERP, and CMFAS M3. As an advisor, I work with passionate individuals and teams around the world. Mandates can be permanent or temporary, in person or remote. Companies normally hire me to advise on the development of business models and new verticals and strategies to roll them out, token economics and financial models, vision/mission workshops, investment theses and investor documents, demand creation, building bridges in deep tech communities, or the communication of complex ideas in engaging stories.
