Maya Zaynetdinova is Head Of Communications, Blockchain at UCSB. Born in Moscow, Russia, Maya started her academic career at the Moscow State Institute of International Relations (MGIMO-University) focusing on International Law. Having completed 2 years, Maya chose to transfer to the State University of New York, College at Cortland (SUNY Cortland), where she earned BA in International Studies and Economics. 

Prior to starting her PhD at UCSB, Maya gained practical experience as an Economic Affairs intern at the Regional Commissions Office at the United Nations HQ, and as a Global Policy intern at Global Citizen, an advocacy organization based in New York City. 

In 2020, UCSB's Interdisciplinary Humanities Center announced their ten new Public Humanities Graduate Fellows, one of which includes Global Studies PhD student Maya Zaynetdinova. This unique program prepares students for careers as dynamic, socially engaged humanists both within and beyond the academy.

Maya’s area of research revolves around models of global governance and social and economic role of global civil society and non-governmental organizations. She is also interested in the impact of technology on advocacy as well as participation of private sector in social activism.

I have been results-focussed and determined to achieve my goals from a young age, having competed semi-professionally in tennis in my teenage years. I became a manager in 2007, and after only a handful of years moving up the corporate ladder, I earned my first Harvey Norman franchise at 22 years old. Through my customer orientated approach to sales, the location quickly grew its revenues and profitability. Desiring to create something of my own, I co-founded an online retail startup, where I managed all sales, marketing, PR and customer relations. Realising my passion for developing young startups, I then joined blueshyft in my current role of Sales and Marketing Director. My ability to inspire and engage even the most sceptical clients has resulted in a business that counts world standard payment and logistic companies in its partners and over 1,100 locations Australia-wide. During my downtime, I enjoy cooking and live music and keep active through regular boxing sessions.

Stephen joined the Algorand Foundation from LogMeIn, a SaaS technology company focused on the development of industry leading UCaSS, IDaSS and CE products, where he was VP International Marketing & Strategy. In this role, Stephen was responsible for building and executing LogMeIn's go-to-market strategy for its international market expansion in Europe, India, APAC and LATAM. Prior to LogMeIn, Stephen worked in market growth and expansion roles in companies such as SanDisk and Dell Computers.

Stephen has over 25 years experience in building marketing teams and marketing strategies that have delivered successful geographic expansion in a range of industries and markets. While Stephen's career has been built in marketing, he originally graduated with a BSc. in Applied Physics from Dublin City University.
