Lei Yang is a PhD student in Computer Science at the Networks and Mobile Systems Group (NMS) of MIT CSAIL, advised by Prof. Mohammad Alizadeh. His research is focused on computer networks and distributed systems. He received his SM from MIT in 2020 and my BS in Computer Science from Peking University in 2018. He loves designing and building systems that are robust, performant, and easy to use. His current research focuses on computer network problems in the setting of blockchain. Two examples are Prism, a cryptocurrency that supports more than 80,000 transactions per second, and DispersedLedger, a method that allows BFT state machine replication protocols to run well on variable-bandwidth networks. His work is supported by Ethereum Foundation.
