Robby Dermody is the Principal at Stoic Capital and former Co-Founder of Counterparty, Advisor at Polymath. I have 20+ years of professional experience with software design and development, entrepreneurship, sales, operations, devops/system administration, and IT consulting. In late 2013 I co-founded Counterparty, which pioneered the first working decentralized exchange technology, as well as some of the earliest blockchain-based financial contracts, and hosted many of the first Initial Coin Offerings (ICOs). I have founded several companies, including Symbiont, a top provider of distributed ledger and smart contract technology to financial institutions, and CtiPath, a contact center professional and managed services provider that boasts clients such as Esurance, Jacksonville Electric, and several state and federal credit unions. I was the architect and principal developer behind Cisco’s Remote Silent Monitoring product, which is shipped with every copy of Cisco's flagship Unified Contact Center Enterprise (UCCE) product suite sold, and is in use by numerous Fortune 100 companies today. I also architected and developed a call monitoring and recording product in use by clients such as Nestle Waters, as well as PoundZero, a contact center-mobile integration product in use by companies such as Samsung. As a contact center specialist, I developed speech and support applications in use at Echostar, SEIU, Bed Bath and Beyond, Earthlink, Volvo, Sungard, several banks & the FAA. At CtiPath, I worked to close several 300K-1.2MM enterprise deals, as well as built the company structure, operational workflows and proprietary software at the heart of the company’s offerings. My 20 years of software development experience covers a wide variety of fields, including cryptocurrencies, DSP, enterprise software and financial modeling. I’m an eternal student of finance and economics, and currently oversee a cryptocurrency-focused asset management company. I truly love pondering and working with the complex interactions between technology, psychology, economics and finance.
